In very exciting news for the Albany Speedway Club, Attwell Park Speedway will host the 2016-2017 Australia Super Sedan Title after Speedway Sedans Australia confirmed details late last month.
The club has successfully bid for the national title and will host the decider over a massive Easter long weekend in 2017.
It will be the second time the national super sedan title will be held in Albany after the club held the same event back in 2002-03 season which was won by Victorian Mick Nicola.
The title will be held across three massive days starting on Friday, April 14 with racing on Saturday, April 15 and Sunday, April 16 while the rainout date set down for Monday, April 17.
Albany will be the only club in WA to host a national title in the 2016-17 season.
The last time Attwell Park played host to a national title was in the 2013-14 season where the Australian Modified Sedan Title was claimed by Victorian star Mark Carlin.
This announcement continues our club's strong association with super sedan racing given we host the blue ribbon Bill Gibbings Memorial event each year and have previously held a round of the National Super Sedan Series.
The ASC is extremely excited to be hosting this event and is grateful to SSA for showing confidence in the club to hold another blue ribbon event at our popular venue.
Stay tuned for more details about this event in the coming season.
